ANISSA RENÉ BRATHWAITE is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She takes great pride in being a product of its religious institutions and public/private school system. As New York City is the “Immigration Capital” of the world, Anissa attributes her exposure to the many ethnocentric differences in her community as direct influences that have shaped her mode of thinking. Her sincere, objective openness to people, circumstances, change, and diversity has afforded Anissa with the ability to interact with individuals that extend the gamut of race, education, social/economic status, and physical characteristics.
Throughout her childhood, teenage years, and in her professional life, Anissa has traveled extensively within the United States and internationally. Stemming from a strong familial background, Anissa feels that her very existence as a woman today comes from the potent role the men and women in her family have played in her life. Anissa understands the meaning of strong leadership, and can respect an honest and powerful person in authority that can make sound decisions for those who are under his or her guidance. According to Anissa, there is no need to lose your identity or sense of purpose under strong leadership and authority; an effective leader brings out the best in a person. She credits her family, church, schools, and community with instilling in her the basic values, which molded her direction in life.
Anissa has an extensive higher education background as she has completed degrees from the following institutions: Doctorate of Education and Masters of Public Administration, Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Bachelor of Arts, State University of New York, College at Old Westbury in Old Westbury New York. She graduated with honors from Balboa High School (Department of Defense Dependents Schools) in the Republic of Panama.
Anissa is the Chief Development Administrator with the educational services company Colossal Expression, LLC. She is the former Academic Administrator for the PACE Center for Girls in Fort Myers, Florida where she was the overseer of all academic affairs. Additionally, she is the former Grants Administrator for the City of Deerfield Beach, Florida. She worked as an integral part
of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s administration in New York City as an Event Manager in the Mayor’s Office of Special Projects and Community Events. As a representative of this office, Anissa implemented and managed all aspects of Mayoral events, which greatly ranged in size, intensity, and responsibility. She lived and worked effectively with children and adults in New York City, where she served as a Senior Caseworker with the Central Brooklyn Coordinating Council. Anissa has also been an educator for various counties within the Florida public school system. The exposure she received during her professional tenure in the aforementioned establishments has richly enhanced her professional growth.
Anissa has served as a keynote speaker, presenter, lecturer, instructor, consultant, panelist, interviewer, and committee/board member. She has received numerous honors, awards, and recognitions. She is affiliated with several religious, community, and professional organizations. Under the guidance and training of Reverend Lawrence A. Saunders, Senior Pastor for Word for Life Christian Center in Brooklyn, New York, she serves in the capacity of ministerial leader at Word for Life Christian Center-South, in Sunrise, Florida. She is also a proud member of The Faith Center International where Bishop Henry Fernandez and Pastor Carol Fernandez are the overseers and spiritual leaders.
Anissa Brathwaite is a natural leader and motivator, and she is thoroughly fulfilled when she is writing and public speaking. It is her sincere desire to continue to assist individuals in the development of their educational skills. Her creativity is heightened when she can assist others to reach their highest potential via a wide range of paths to success.
